Khalid bin Mohammad Al-Attiyah
Khalid bin Mohammad Al-Attiyah is Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs. He started his career as fighter pilot and joined Qatar’s air force, where he served from 1987 to 1995. From 2003 to 2008 he served as the President of the National Committee for Human Rights. From 2008 to 2011 he served as the Minister of State for International Cooperation. During his tenure he also served as acting Minister for Business and Trade. In 2009, he became a member of Silatech’s board of trustees. He is also a Member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Diar company, and a Member of the Board of Directors of the Qatar electricity and water company. In 2011, he was appointed as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in the cabinet led by Prime Minister Hamad bin Jassim Al-Thani. Since June 2013, he is Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs.
